Pretty Girl 12.14.10 - Mary Elizabeth Winstead

I'll Ramona her Flowers.

If You Have 3 #1s Is Anyone a #2?

File this under "Get Real Scared of the Phillies," Cliff Lee is returning to Philly on a 5-yr, $100mil $120mil deal.  If Cliffers pitches 200 innings in 2015 or 400 total in 2014+2015 then a $27.5mil option for 2016 vests (with a $12.5mil buyout).  Much respect to Cliff on not just running to the Yankees 6-yr, $138mil (+ $16mil player option).  We are now looking at, arguably, the best rotation of our lifetimes.  Cheers.

An Ugly Microcosm

Nothing sums up the season for the Cavs better than this image.  Also, they lost by 30.

I Like My Pants Golden, Not My Showers

Incredibly I remember the entire game. Not much afterward though.

Fear the Roo

Congrats to the Zips on bringing home the 2010 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer championship.

Pretty Girl 12.13.10 - Rooney Mara

Word is that she pierced both of her nipples for a topless scene in the US remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.  Nice.

That's What I Said

Upon initially reading this piece, I felt somewhat inferior, as if whoever had constructed the arguments therein was infinitely more articulate and incisive than I.  Then I saw that the author is, in fact, the chair of the Philosophy department at Harvard and my Arthur Dimsdale impression came to an end.  Perhaps nihilism and the polytheistic nature of modern existence is the source of my angst.  Thereby, meaning detaches from all but the most depraved acts.  Thus, the freedom that we have been given from a monotheistic path pf righteousness has enslaved us to yoke of indecision.  The flickering hope in the piece is that of a new social contract, wherein we can all examine worth subjectively and appreciate good works regardless of their specific phenomena.  Read Kelly's opinion, he may just make my point for me.  [I linked it twice as it's so essential.]

Pretty Girl 12.11.10 - Portia Doubleday

We're all looking for our Sheeni Saunders.
