Hanah... Hahnah... Whatever

The Tribe adds 3B Jack Hannahan, late of Oakland and Seattle.  He's a .224 lifetime hitter in the bigs and stroked .237 @ AAA in 2010.  He's every bit as bad as Nix, except it's no stick rather than no glove.  Where do you go when you've already proven that you can't hack for the A's and M's?  That's right.  Cleveland.  Aargh.

Jeter re-ups with the Yanks, finally, 3-yr, about $50mil.

Expect a deal to send 1B Ardian Gonzalez from San Diego to Boston to become official this afternoon.  The Pads will get, at least, RHP Casey Kelly (ranked #24 overall on the pre-2010 Baseball America prospect list, but struggled at AA), 1B Anthony Rizzo (25 HR and 100 RBI at A+/AA in 2010), and speedy CF Anthony Fuentes (2009 1st rounder, 42 SB @ A- last year).  Those would be Red Sox prospects #s 1, 3 & 6 respective in the just released 2011 BA rankings.  This should work for both sides, but, wow, that's a lot to give up.

A well-done table of the Indians salary commitments from 2011 onward following arbitration settlements.  Thanks again, IPI.

Also, former Reds ace Aaron Harang has landed with the Padres (he's from the area and played for San Diego State).  The 32-year old will try to get his career back on track after a distatorous 2010 (5.32 ERA, 1.58 WHIP).

The smart money is on the Buckeyes facing Arkansas (unless Auburn loses) in the Sugar Bowl, January 4th @ 8p.  Who wants to go?  I can get tickets.

Lastly, after tanking against Kent State last weekend, my Ohio Bobcats are now projected, by Rivals, to play fellow MAC member and last night's heartbreak loser Northern Illinois.  This would be Motor City Bowl.  Weird.

Busy morning.

Cheers.
