I was reading, today, a tale of pirates. In addition to the normal pirating of tobacco, sugar cane and spices; the captain of the ship was searching for his lost daughter. After slaughtering the guards of an island prison to secure a fresh crew, the yo-ho-ho's set off on a fresh lead. To celebrate their one-sided victory over the jailers, the boys engage in some good old feasting and grogging. I say boys because each and every hand on deck pissed standing up. This got me to thinking about my own social situations and how I enjoy the company of women, especially when there is a tankard of mead or two involved.
Back in the days of the skull and crossbones the lives of men and women were indelibly separated. Interaction between men and women rarely took place lest behind closed doors or in some official capacity. Thus, if it was the soft touch or dulcet feminine tones that you desired, you, for lack of a better phrase, made one your own. If you desired more than to just insert tab A into slot B, you married. Thereby the interaction of the fairer sex was pretty much guaranteed until your nap took to dirt. While the mores were a bit looser back in the day, it was still in your own best interest to stay true to your lady so as not to upset the delicate balance of the dyad. You remained faithful. This was made a stretch simpler by how few women you might bump into on the outside.
In our modern world the situation is a bit more complex. As women have moved ever closer to social equality (here is not the venue to discuss how close) the lives of men and women have become inextricably intermingled. You run into into scores of women every day, most of them in a social context. You can enjoy their ample bosoms and unique sensibilities without clubbing one over the head and dragging her back to your batcave. Still the institution of marriage prevails (again, for now, let's not dissect why). In this day and age temptation runs rampant. The opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the female form in all of its glory is consistent, if not constant. Here's the inescapable conclusion that y'all have been awaiting -- as our lives become more desperately intertwined, the concept of monogamy has become antiquated.
Chicks are fun. In case half of the posts on this site have not made it abundantly clear, pretty girls are, without a doubt, my favorite thing in the world. To refrain from such grace due to the unqualified sensibilities of those who live their lives by the word "should" is a tragedy. We only get to do it once, kids. Let's get all of the juice from that peach. ;-j
P.s. I saw "Ultra Moist" cake mix at the store today. Yum.
Here's a pretty girl and good tune... Cheers
